How to Play ThreeCell
Game Objective
Move all cards to the four foundations.
Foundation Rules
- There are four foundations.
- An Ace may move to an empty foundation.
- The foundations build up by the same suit.
- For example the 5♠ may move onto the 4♠ and the 5♦ may move onto the 4♦. Starting with the 5♠ the following sequence can build on top 6♠ 7♠ 8♠ 9♠.
Cell Rules
- There are three cells.
- Any card may fill an empty space.
- The top card is movable.
Tableau Rules
- There are eight tableaus.
- Any card may fill an empty space.
- The tableaus build down by alternating colors.
- For example the 5♠ may move onto the 6♦ and the 5♥ may move onto the 6♣. Starting with the 5♥ the following sequence can build on top 4♠ 3♦ 2♣.
- Any card may move to an empty tableau.
- Sequences of cards built down by alternating color can move together as a group.
Strategy & Tips
Even though almost every game is winnable (99%) use these 3 tips for the best chance of beating each game:
- Keep the four free cells, free where possible. They are used to help move the large stacks of cards.
- An empty tableau doubles the number of cards you can move between tableaus.
- Any single card may be moved to the free cell spaces.
