Saxony Solitaire
Saxony is played with two standard decks (104 cards). The eight foundations each contain an Ace. There are eight tableaus that contain one cards each. The objective is to move all cards to the eight foundations by building them up by the same suit.
How to Play Saxony
Build foundations up by the same suit. No building on the tableau. Build reserves down by the same suit. Stock deals one to each tableau.
Game Objective
The goal of Saxony is to move all 104 cards to the foundation piles. You achieve this by building sequences of cards up by the same suit that start with an Ace and end with a King. You win when the eight foundations each contain a complete sequence of thirteen cards.
Foundation Rules
- There are eight foundations.
- Initially containing an Ace in each foundation.
- The foundations build up by the same suit.
- For example the 8♠ may move onto the 7♠ and the 8♦ may move onto the 7♦. Starting with the 8♠ the following sequence may build on top 9♠ 10♠ J♠ Q♠.
Cell Rules
- There are four cells.
- Initially containing one card face up in each cell.
- The top card is movable.
- Any single card may move to an empty cell.
Tableau Rules
- There are eight tableaus.
- Initially containing one card face up in each tableau.
- The top card is movable.
- Once empty the tableaus remain empty until more cards move from the stock.
Reserve Rules
- There are four reserves.
- Initially containing one card face up in each reserve.
- The reserves build down by the same suit.
- For example the J♠ may move onto the Q♠ and the J♥ may move onto the Q♥. Starting with the J♠ the following sequence may build on top 10♠ 9♠ 8♠ 7♠.
- The top card is movable.
- Any single card may move to an empty reserve.
Stock Rules
- The stock deals one card face up to each tableau when tapped.
- A single pass through the stock is permitted. Redeals are not possible. Once on the tableau, cards remain until used in a valid move.
