How to Play Inverted Freecell
Game Objective
Move all cards to the four foundations.
Foundation Rules
- There are four foundations.
- A King may move to an empty foundation.
- The foundations build down by the same suit.
- For example the 7♠ may move onto the 8♠ and the 7♥ may move onto the 8♥. Starting with the 7♥ the following sequence can build on top 6♥ 5♥ 4♥ 3♥.
Cell Rules
- There are four cells.
- Any card may fill an empty space.
- The top card is movable.
Tableau Rules
- There are eight tableaus.
- Any card may fill an empty space.
- The tableaus build up by alternating colors.
- For example the 4♠ may move onto the 3♦ and the 4♦ may move onto the 3♣. Starting with the 4♦ the following sequence can build on top 5♠ 6♥ 7♣.
- Any card may move to an empty tableau.
- Sequences of cards built up by alternating color can move together as a group.
Strategy & Tips
Even though almost every game is winnable (99%) use these 3 tips for the best chance of beating each game:
- Keep the four free cells, free where possible. They are used to help move the large stacks of cards.
- An empty tableau doubles the number of cards you can move between tableaus.
- Any single card may be moved to a free cell space.
