Deuces and Queens Solitaire

Deuces and Queens is played with two standard decks (104 cards). There are four tableaus that contain one cards each. The objective is to move all cards to the four foundations by building them up regardless of suit.

How to Play Deuces and Queens

Build deuce foundations up regardless of suit and wrap around on Kings. Fill empty deuce foundations with Twos. Build queen foundations down regardless of suit and wrap around on Aces. Build tableaus up or down regardless of suit and wrap around on Kings and Aces. Empty tableaus automatically fill from the stock. Stock deals one to waste without redeals.

Game Objective

The goal of Deuces and Queens is to move all 104 cards to the foundation piles. You achieve this by building sequences of cards on the Deuce and Queen foundations. You win when all eight foundations contain a complete sequence of thirteen cards.

Deuce Foundation Rules

  • There are four deuce foundations.
  • The deuce foundations are initially empty.
  • The deuce foundations build up regardless of suit. Deuce foundations may build around-the-corner (an Ace may move onto a King).
  • For example the 4♠ may move onto the 3♠, 3♥, 3♣ and 3♦. Starting with the J♠ the following sequence may build on top Q♦ K♠ A♣ 2♥.
  • A Two may move to an empty deuce foundation.

Queen Foundation Rules

  • There are four queen foundations.
  • The queen foundations are initially empty.
  • The queen foundations build down regardless of suit. Queen foundations may build around-the-corner (a King may move onto an Ace).
  • For example the 7♠ may move onto the 8♠, 8♥, 8♣ and 8♦. Starting with the 3♠ the following sequence may build on top 2♦ A♠ K♣ Q♥.
  • A Queen may move to an empty queen foundation.

Tableau Rules

  • There are four tableaus.
  • Initially containing one card face up in each tableau.
  • The tableaus build up or down regardless of suit. Tableaus may build around either corner (an Ace may move onto a King or a King may move onto an Ace).
  • For example the 7♠ may move onto the 6♥ or the 8♣. Starting with the Q♥ the following sequence may build on top K♠ A♠ K♦ Q♣.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Empty spaces are automatically populated with a card from the stock.

Reserve Rules

  • There are three reserves.
  • Initially containing thirteen cards face up in each reserve.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Once empty the reserves remain empty.

Stock Rules

  • The stock deals one card face up to the waste when tapped.
  • A single pass through the stock is permitted. Redeals are not possible. Once on the waste, cards remain until used in a valid move.

Waste Rules

  • There is one waste.
  • The waste is initially empty.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Once empty the waste remains empty until more cards move from the stock.
